[music |Music from aforementioned clip]

Some of you may have seen this clip before, but if not, I thought I'd draw your attention to it as it's quite a gem. Not only do we have the first appearance of this particular variation of the BBC1 mirror globe ident/font combination *and* a snippet of Moira Stuart's first TV news bulletin, the music on this clip is an absolute winner. It sounds to me like Wendy Carlos-can anyone confirm or deny this?

Nice! (..and good to see an entry on the choc a block lj). I think the music is probably 'in-house' Radiophonic Workshop stuff with some pretty hot 'dreamy' synth sounds.

I wish I knew. It's such a fantastic piece of music, but notably absent from my BBC Radiophonic Workshop CDs. It deserves the recognition that tracks such as 'Bart' and 'Swirley' get in pres circles.

It *could* be a composition from one of the more active late 70s/early 80s RW members like Paddy Kingsland or Roger Limb, although I'm still thinking Wendy Carlos. She should have been an honorary RW member! :-D

And I've a few ideas up my sleeve for further posts-watch this space!

mmm nice idea but i don't think Wendy had much to do with Aunty Beeb did she? (what with being a sex change person and all that..ooo-er)

Look forward to new postings Queenie.
